Application For International Fuel Tax Agreement License

In the absence of a valid IFTA licence, qualified vehicles must obtain separate individual driving authorisations prior to each inter-legal journey. If New York State is your base jurisdiction, complete the following steps to get your first IFTA license and decals. To apply for an IFTA license and decals, you must complete an application and file it with that division together with the current license fee and registration fee. IFTA licenses are valid from January 1 to December 31. It is the responsibility of all licensees to renew their licenses each year before December 31 and to obtain new stickers. New Brunswick should not issue an extension if you have not submitted inter-legal transactions during the year. If you are submitting your initial licence or renewal application, make sure that you have provided all the requested information, including the number of stickers required for the year of registration. If you do not provide the required information or the correct payment of the license fee and registration fee, this will result in a delay in the processing of your application. Please note that if your license is revoked in another IFTA member jurisdiction, you are not eligible to register in New Brunswick. As an IFTA licensee, you report your fuel purchases and trips within one month of the end of each quarter. The Ministry of Finance will send you an IFTA tax return at least 30 days before each due date. IFTA Tax Rate Matrix is the official source of all IFTA fuel tax rates.
